Susan Sarandon

Susan Sarandon, a prominent American actress with a substantial following worldwide, has caused outrage for making antisemitic statements directed towards both the Jewish people and State. The "Thelma and Louise'' star has a long history of exhibiting antisemitic behavior, and the past few years have seen some of her worst moments yet.

On May 26, 2021, Susan Sarandon faced backlash for endorsing Bella Hadid and commending her as "brave" for standing up for her community. Just days prior, Bella Hadid had marched through the streets alongside a group of Palestinian men who brutally assaulted a Jewish man to the point of hospitalization. Upon their arrest, one of the individuals defiantly proclaimed their intent to repeat the violent act.

In March 2023, Roger Waters' concert in Frankfurt faced cancellation due to his persistent expression of antisemitic views, notably featuring a giant pig adorned with a Star of David during the show. Waters further drew controversy by drawing an inappropriate comparison between Anne Frank and the unfortunate death of a journalist in the West Bank. Petitions in support gained momentum, with Susan Sarandon prominently endorsing and topping the list of supporters.

On November 10th, thousands of violent pro-Hamas supporters gathered in New York City to protest Israel, shutting down Grand Central Station. The crowd became aggressive, damaging police cars and attempting to breach the station doors while chanting: "Intifada," accusing Israel of genocide and praising the Palestinian "resistance." Sarandon made an unannounced appearance and told the crowd, "So many people do not understand the context in which this October 7 assault happened. They don't understand the history of what has been happening to the Palestinian people." She added, "It's time to have an open heart. It's time to be strong, and it's time that Palestine be free." She shockingly failed to denounce Hamas or demand for the return of hostages.

On November 17th, Susan Sarandon attended another Pro-Hamas rally in New York City. At the rally, Sarandon stated, "There are a lot of people afraid of being Jewish at this time and are getting a taste of what it feels like to be a Muslim in this country, so often subjected to violence." These comments drew worldwide condemnation as antisemitism has been skyrocketing for Jewish Americans since the 10/7 terror attacks to the point where the FBI is now getting involved.

As a consequence, Sarandon's talent agency, United Talent Agency, swiftly parted ways with the Hollywood star and she was dropped by a production company that was considering her for a short film.

Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid is a globally recognized supermodel who actively shares antisemitic libel against the Jewish people to her nearly 80 million followers on Instagram. Hadid is the daughter of failed real estate mogul and former Antisemite of the Week, Mohammed Hadid and older sister of Bella and Anwar Hadid. Her and her siblings have followed in their father’s footsteps of displaying disturbing antisemitic behavior, which landed Bella a place on this year’s Antisemite of the Week for her blood libel and incitement of violence against the Jewish people.

In May 2021, during heightened tensions between Israel and Hamas, Gigi Hadid placed blame on Israel for the conflict, overlooking Hamas's role in violating a ceasefire with 4000+ rockets while also expressing genocidal intentions. Rather than condemning the attacks on innocent Israelis, she criticized Israel's defensive actions. Hadid endorsed posts by her sister, Bella, asserting that Israel was engaging in apartheid and ethnic cleansing, while Gigi herself conveyed a message discouraging support for Israel based on issues such as LGBTQ+ rights, women's rights, and racial equality. This stance led to Gigi, Bella, and singer Dua Lipa (also a previous Antisemite of the Week) being featured in a New York Times ad accusing them of promoting blood libel against the Jewish people.

In March 2022, amid the Ukrainian-Russian war, Gigi pledged to donate her earnings to aid those affected by the conflict in Ukraine and continued supporting those in Palestine. In a post the model stated, "I am pledging to donate my earnings...to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine." This sparked criticism as it juxtaposed Israel's defensive actions against terrorist threats with Russia's aggressive expansion. In contrast to Putin's approach of causing widespread destruction, Israel takes measures to minimize civilian casualties, opting for precise military strikes in its efforts to neutralize groups like Hamas, which pose a threat to its population.

In the wake of the terror massacre against the Israelis by Hamas on October 7, Gigi posted a series of stories to her Instagram — none of which condemned Hamas for their unspeakable violence against innocent Israelis. In a post a few days later, she shared, "There is nothing Jewish about the Israeli treatment of Palestinians." This post drew criticism from the State of Israel's Instagram, which stated, "Have you been sleeping this past week? Or are you just fine turning a blind eye to Jewish babies being butchered in their homes?" Several weeks later, Gigi insinuated more blood libel against the Jewish state.

Just last week, the model falsely accused Israel of being "the only country in the world that keeps children as prisoners of war." She posted this following a ceasefire deal that brought the release of Israeli children and women held hostage by Hamas. As part of the ceasefire deal, Palestinian youth and women who were imprisoned for terrorism or security-related crimes and tried in court were freed in an exchange of three prisoners per Israeli. Hadid went on to falsely accuse Israel of "abduction, rape, humiliation, torture, murder of Palestinians years and years and years before October 7, 2023." The Instagram story was deleted, and Gigi was forced to apologize for her comments. However, she made no mention of another Instagram story she posted accusing Israel of Palestinian organ harvesting. Her hateful rhetoric was spread by millions.

Enough is enough - email Gigi Hadid's modeling agency, IMG, and demand they cut ties with her!

Hamas Head Ismail Haniyeh

Ismail Haniyeh is a notoriously violent individual and has been number one on Israel's most wanted list for several years. He’s led Hamas' political branch since May 2017, and in 2019, entered into voluntary exile, residing between Turkey and Qatar. Haniyeh and his 13 children live outside Gaza where they benefit from illegal trade through tunnels into Egypt. Whatever fortune they accumulate they invest in real estate properties in Gaza and Turkey.

Haniyeh's association with Hamas dates to the mid-1990s, and his prominence within the organization grew through his initiatives during the Second Intifada, placing him at the forefront of Palestinian terror. Following democratic elections in 2006, he became the Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority. However, in June 2007, amid the Fatah-Hamas conflict, President Mahmoud Abbas removed him from office. Despite this, Haniyeh continued to wield prime ministerial powers in the Gaza Strip.

Haniyeh was re-elected as the leader of Hamas in 2021 and has been classified as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) by the U.S. since 2018 due to his close links with Hamas's military wing and advocacy for armed struggle, including against civilians.

Ismail Haniyeh and other Hamas leaders are among the wealthiest war lords associated with terrorist organizations globally. Billions in annual aid that are designated for civilian welfare in Gaza are redirected to these leaders to fund their lavish lifestyles; further contributing to the disparity between leaders and citizens.

Hamas compromised Gaza's water source by repurposing pipes for rocket construction. Additionally, resources have been allocated towards constructing terror tunnels aimed at causing harm to Israelis rather than benefiting the local population. The organization is notorious for prioritizing terrorism over the well-being of its citizens.

Hamas meticulously planned and executed a series of attacks, known as Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, with the intention of provoking Israel to invade Gaza. Launched almost 50 years after the Yom Kippur War in 1973, the operation involved a rocket barrage of over 3,000 rockets, powered paraglider incursions, and breaching the Gaza–Israel barrier. The attacks resulted in the death of 859 Israeli civilians and at least 345 soldiers and policemen. Hamas took over 240 hostages, including approximately 30 children, to the Gaza Strip.

Senior Hamas figures issued a call to arms and recovered documents from terrorists revealed plans to target civilian populations and take hostages for future negotiations.

Haniyeh was the lead mastermind of the October 7th massacre against innocent Israeli civilians which resulted in the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust. In the aftermath of the October 7 attack on Israel, Haniyeh expressed confidence in a "great victory" during a speech broadcast on the Hamas-run Al-Aqsa television channel. Like many evil dictators before him, Haniyeh retains a life of luxury at the expense of the people he represents.

Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib - UPDATE

Rashida Tlaib's vile antisemitism has increased two-fold since StopAntisemitism featured the Congresswoman as its “Antisemite of the Week” back in 2019.

In January 2019, Tlaib voted against a bill aimed at striking down Boycott, Divest, and Sanction (BDS) measures against Israel. She claimed this bill was created under the guise of dual loyalty— a dangerous antisemitic trope used against Jewish people that claims they are not loyal citizens of where they live and are tied to a global Israeli agenda.

In December 2020, Tlaib quickly deleted a retweet that included the phrase, "From the River to the Sea - Palestine will be Free" — a genocidal call for the elimination of the Jewish state and its citizens.

In September 2021, Tlaib voted against the Iron Dome Funding Bill. She was the only member in opposition to voice her reasoning from the floor, going on an antisemitic tirade against the Jewish State which included false allegations of apartheid living.

In July 2023, Tlaib and eight other members of Congress voted against a bill that asserted the State of Israel is not a racist or apartheid state. The bill also expressed Congress' rejection of all forms of antisemitism and xenophobia.

On October 7th, Hamas violated a ceasefire agreement, leading to the slaughter and abduction of innocent civilians. Tlaib promptly held Israel responsible for these abhorrent acts of terror. As Israel defended itself, Tlaib falsely accused them of hospital bombings, which were later revealed to be the result of a failed rocket launch by Palestinian terrorists.

Despite evidence to the contrary, she persisted in blaming Israel and did not advocate for the release of American hostages in Gaza. On November 3, 2023, Tlaib accused President Biden of betrayal and endorsed false claims of genocide, connecting it to Israel's actions against Hamas. In a subsequent tweet, she stated that "From the River to the Sea" is a cry for freedom, contradicting its historical association with the elimination of the Jewish state.

Thankfully, on November 7, 2023, one month after the savage Hamas terror attacks on Israel, Rashida Tlaib was censured for her remarks glorifying genocide against Israel. She became only the 26th member of the House of Representatives in U.S. history to be censured by her peers.

Colby Alexander Frank

Colby "Ace" Alexander Frank is a violent figure within the white supremacist organization Goyim Defense League (GDL). He actively espouses Holocaust denial and participates in the littering of hate-filled antisemitic flyers aimed at the Jewish community. Frank frequently appears alongside GDL founder and leader Jon Minadeo at neo-Nazi rallies, taking part in antisemitic banner drops along U.S. highways, and intimidating Jewish individuals as they attend their Shabbat services.

Online, Frank refers to himself as "Ace" and prominently displays a banner on his profile declaring "Hitler was Right." On February 17, 2023, he joined forces with more than a dozen activists from the GDL in a protest outside a Chabad synagogue located in Orlando, Florida. During this demonstration, GDL members brandished antisemitic signs, verbally abused pedestrians and drivers they identified as Jewish using hateful language. Frank, along with fellow GDL member Nicholas Bysheim, approached a man on the street whom they believed to be Jewish and offered him a bar of soap while callously remarking, "He's got some soap. It's made out of your ancestors! It's made out of your grandma!"

On April 9, 2023, Frank and a cohort of neo-Nazi activists orchestrated the placement of antisemitic banners on a pedestrian bridge spanning a highway in Orlando, Florida. Notably, participants from the GDL, NatSoc Florida (NSF), and the National Socialist Movement (NSM) were involved in this event. During the demonstration, Frank proudly displayed the NSF flag, which features the letter "N," a Sowilō rune, and the Wolfsangel, a symbol infamously associated with Nazi Germany and utilized in the insignias of various Waffen-SS units.

The banners displayed by these neo-Nazi groups conveyed highly provocative messages. The first banner featured the word "Problem" alongside symbols representing a Jewish Star of David and a communist hammer and sickle, followed by the word "Solution" paired with neo-Nazi imagery, including a swastika. The subsequent banners carried messages like "The Great [Jewish] Replacement IS REAL"

Frank and Minadeo were both arrested in Florida on May 20, 2023. During the arrest of Minadeo, Frank got involved in a confrontation with a police officer, leading to concerns about his threat level. Minadeo captioned a video of the incident as: "HT & ACE GET ARRESTED & TAKEN INTO CUSTODY BY ZOGBOTS IN FLORIDA!!!" "ZOG" is an acronym for "Zionist Occupied Government," an antisemitic conspiracy theory often used by radial leftists alleging covert Jewish control over Western governments.

This past Wednesday, GDL associates disrupted a Women's Republican Event held at the Space Coast Convention Center in Florida. Prior to this incident, they engaged in the unwelcome surveillance and intimidation of Representative Randy Fine, who was scheduled as the keynote speaker. Frank physically confronted Rep. Fine, who is Jewish, over his sponsorship of HB269 legislation in Florida, which criminalizes the targeting of minority groups, including antisemitism.

These ongoing hate crimes are a reminder to continue reporting all antisemitic acts or even warning signs by calling StopAntisemitism at 877-411-HATE (4283) or submitting a report HERE. It is important to be vigilant as these incidents of provocation often devolve into violence.

Lauren Witzke

Delaware native Lauren Witzke is a convicted drug trafficker and failed Congressional candidate who actively misuses her platform to spread dangerous antisemitic conspiracy theories to her thousands of social media followers. Witzke has previously voiced her support for the QAnon conspiracy group, a belief system identified by the FBI as a potential domestic terrorism threat. QAnon openly advocates and pushes the belief that Jewish elites control facets of the governmentbankingmedia, and Hollywood. Many members of the fanatical group believe the Holocaust never happened or was grossly exaggerated.

Witzke has also been associated with white nationalists and antisemites, as evidenced by her public expression of gratitude to StopAntisemitism’s former 'Antisemite of the Week' Nick Fuentes following her nomination for Congress. Fuentes actively promotes Kanye West’s antisemitic rhetoric and openly questions the accuracy of historical accounts related to the Holocaust.

Witzke’s antisemitism runs rampant on Twitter, such as:

  • In the summer of 2023, Witzke insinuated that Israel was behind the assassination of President John F. Kennedy as an explanation as to why his nephew, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK), has been under scrutiny for troubling remarks about the Jewish people.

  • On February 24, 2023, Witzke claimed that neo-Nazi John Minadeo II was a "fed plant sent to provoke DeSantis into signing the antisemitism hate speech law."

  • In August of 2023, Witzke questioned Governor’s DeSantis motive for visiting Israel while also signing Florida HB269, which protects the Jewish communities against antisemitic attacks. Witzke tweeted, "Who does this guy really work for?"

  • Witzke pushes the antisemitic notion that the Jewish people killed Jesus to her audience on Twitter. This slander against the Jewish people has been used to wage wars and violence against the Jewish people for centuries.

Witzke’s disdain for Israel is evident on social media, often with severe antisemitic undertones:

  • In August of 2023, Witzke praised Vivek Ramaswamy for wanting to cut federal funding to Israel. She tweeted, "It takes guts to stand up against the globalist neocons."

  • In several tweets, Witzke touts the antisemitic trope of "dual loyalty," which has been a source of violent Jew hatred for centuries. She claimed, "the dual citizens are gaining seats in US Congress" and tweeted, "no more dual loyalties" to the "Israeli handlers."

  • On September 10, 2023, Witzke tweeted the dangerous conspiracy that falsely pushes the "Dancing Israelis" theory, claiming Israel was behind the horrendous terror attacks of 9/11. The next day she doubled down on her false claims tweeting, "Reminder that they covered up the Israeli attacks on the USS Liberty because they didn’t want to our greatest ally. It appears they covered up their involvement again on 9/11."

  • Earlier this year, Witzke tweeted, "Kevin McCarthy is flying to Israel to address their Knesset. It seems McCarthy is going to get his orders from his real masters.”

The International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) definition of antisemitism denounces false and harmful allegations about Jews, including myths about a global Jewish conspiracy, and claims of Jewish control in society. It also condemns the accusations against the Jewish people for dual loyalty, which suggests they prioritize global Jewish interests over their own nation. Furthermore, the definition discourages the use of classic antisemitic symbols and imagery, such as the “Jews killing Jesus” or “blood libel,” to characterize Jews or Israelis, as it perpetuates harmful stereotypes and prejudices.
