Councilman Chaim Deutsch tells Yeshiva News Worldwide that he spoke to the victim who was walking to Shul in the area on Ocean Parkway and Quentin Road on Monday morning, when a man approached him and began using anti-Semitic slurs at him.
The attacker then made specific threats to the victim, and then attempted to repeatedly punch the man in the face. Thankfully, the victim ducked and was not injured. The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident.
Anti-Semitic attacks in New York have risen by 60% this year, according to the NYPD.
