The Plainville Fire Department is working with law enforcement after finding a smashed window and hateful remarks spray-painted on the side of their Plainville Road station.
The department released photos on their Facebook account Saturday afternoon.
The department says they will need to repaint the station when the weather is warmer. Until that time, the department and the community has covered up the derogatory language.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office tip line.
