Sunday, police in Surfside Beach released information regarding their ongoing investigation into antisemitic messages shared around the small beach town.

"The Police Department is aware of shameful acts committed by persons distributing anti-Semitic propaganda around town during the early morning hours this morning. Officers have been around town trying to remove it from your yards. We are looking into the matter and gathering facts," police said on social media.

Several neighbors in Surfside Beach took to social media to share the flyers that they say appeared out on their lawns early Sunday morning.

Back in early May, Horry County police said notes were found in Murrells Inlet folded up in plastic zipper bags with hard candies placed onto the driveways and lawns of residents.

Images from neighbors show these latest notes appear to have been placed throughout the town in zipper bags with rice weighing them down.

Police believe that the literature was distributed around 2:30 a.m. by persons in vehicles.

"The Town of Surfside Beach is "The Family Beach," welcoming all people to our community. We do not condone this behavior in any way," police said.
