At around 7:45 p.m. on Monday, an unidentified man approached a 10-year-old boy on a northbound 3 train in Crown Heights, Brooklyn and snatched the religious garment off of his head, police said.

The suspected thief then fled in an unknown direction, according to officials.

Police released a photo of a man they believe is connected to the theft, showing him leaving a subway station.
