A Whatsapp group called “The Shoah party” was discovered by Italian police, Italy’s Corriere Fiorentino reports. “Shoah” is the Hebrew term for the Holocaust.
According to the report, the WhatsApp group contains violent images of “unprecedented violence” and scenes of “unspeakable brutality,” including praise for Hitler, Mussolini and ISIS, anti-Semitic and racial slurs, and child pornography.
The investigation began in January after an Italian mother discovered the group on her son’s phone. Since then, police have seized dozens of mobile phones and computers throughout 13 Italian provinces.
Among the disturbing contents was a video of a newborn baby being tortured by an adult and an 11-year-old being raped by two teenage boys.
A video of African children drinking water from a puddle accompanied by racist comments such as “S**t Drinkers”, a photomontage of a Christian cross over a swastika, and clips of the 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers in New York were also discovered by the authorities.
The messages on the Whatsapp group were full of anti-Semitic images and remarks glorifying the Holocaust, such as “Jews are just fuel. Where is the lighter?”, according to the Italian daily La Stampa.
Twenty-five people are currently under investigation, including 16 minors between the ages of 13 and 17 and 9 18- and 19-year-old adults, the Italian paper reports.
