Police have made an arrest after a swastika was graffitied onto an elementary school in Edina over the weekend.

Edina Public Schools confirmed the incident in an email to parents on Monday, with other offensive graffiti found alongside the Nazi symbol.

"When an act of hatred occurs anywhere in Edina, it affects our entire community,” superintendent John Schultz wrote. "We in Edina Public Schools are committed to creating a school culture where all feel welcome and respected."

WCCO reported that the school in question was Concord Elementary School, with the offending graffiti found on a shed in the playground, which has since been painted over.

An arrest has since been made, with the suspect not believed to have a connection with the school. No details about the suspect have been released. It's the latest incident of racist or antisemitic graffiti at Twin Cities schools, with racist language found drawn on the side of a Wayzata High School building just last week.
