A suspect has been arrested in connection with a Sunday hate crime with the help of Rockland Chaverim.
Tuesday night, members of Chaverim saw a man fitting the description of the suspect, who allegedly spat on a young Jewish woman and hurled antisemitic epithets ar her.
He was spotted at the Walgreens located at the intersection of Routes 45 and 59 at around 9:08 p.m., and was allegedly harassing other people. Chaverim members alerted police, who arrested him shortly after.
The Jewish community is on high alert following the October 7 massacre, as antisemitic incidents and threats nationwide have increased exponentially ever since.
