A man was arrested Sunday evening for attempting to forcibly enter the Shul of Bal Harbor, one of the largest synagogues in South Florida.
The man parked his car in front of the synagogue and was approached by the Shul’s security members.
He was overheard speaking Arabic and appeared to be under the influence, a source said.
When approached by a security official, he began running towards the large building of The Shul located on Collins Avenue in Surfside.
Security was able to stop him. Police and ambulance arrived, and the street was closed off to traffic while police searched his vehicle; the man was subsequently arrested.
