The senior Rabbi of a synagogue based out of Potomac recently reached out to 7News to express concerns after he says a banner showing support for Israel was defaced.
Rabbi Adam Raskin is the senior rabbi of Congregation Har Shalom in Potomac and says the defacing of the banner happened in front of the synagogue property.
We discovered that the banner has been cut and defaced," Raskin wrote to 7News. "Another synagogue, Beth El in Bethesda recently had their banner destroyed as well.
He also called the incident "deeply unsettling to the Jewish community." Other leaders of the organization called it an incident of antisemitism.
