Jewish Children's Graves in Germany Vandalized

Unknown people broke off and knocked over several tombstones of Jewish children at a Cemetery in Chemnitz, Germany. The vandalism was discovered Tuesday July 13th at the older part of the resting places; cemetery administration filed a complaint.

Police investigated the crime scene on Wednesday and a police spokeswoman said "the investigation is ongoing." A possible “political” motive is also being examined.

A total of four tombstones were damaged. Ruth Röcher (67), chairwoman of the Jewish community in Chemnitz stated “There are children's graves. We have filed a complaint. It is important to us not to dismiss such antisemitic acts. They have to be made public and registered. "
