In the now deleted message on X, formerly known as Twitter, she shares an Instagram post asking fans whether she should take up paragliding, one of the methods used by Hamas terrorists in their atrocities on 7 October.
Alongside the question, she posts a picture of herself in a green, white and black jacket, which some commentators are suggesting are a coded nod to the colours of the Palestinian flag.
Advocacy group StopAntisemitism suggested she was signalling her support for the attacks, asking: ‘Is this some sick ode to the Hamas terrorists that infiltrated Israel, killed over 1300 people, beheaded babies, raped women, and kidnapped Holocaust survivors @aliciakeys?’
In a new post to her 27.1 million followers, Keys denies any connection and insists she stands for peace, writing: The post I shared was COMPLETELY unrelated in any way to the recent devastating loss of innocent lives. My heart has been breaking…. I pray for and stand for peace.’
