Emory No Longer Employs Medical School Professor Following ‘Antisemitic’ Social Media Post

Emory University is no longer employing former Emory School of Medicine Assistant Professor Abeer AbouYabis after she was placed on administrative leave last month for sharing a social media post that the University found to be “antisemitic.” It is not yet clear if Emory terminated AbouYabis’ employment or if she resigned.

“Dr. Abeer AbouYabis is no longer employed or practicing at Emory, including the Winship Cancer Institute,” Assistant Vice President of University Communications Laura Diamond wrote in an email to the Wheel. “We are working with all affected patients to facilitate their uninterrupted access to high-quality care at Emory Healthcare.”

Diamond did not respond to questions about the nature of AbouYabis’ departure or the status of the investigation, writing that the University did not have further comment on the situation.

AbouYabis was not immediately available for comment as of press time.

In the October message, AbouYabis wrote that she joined students from Atlanta colleges at the Israeli embassy and thanked Emory Students for Justice in Palestine for helping her “hang onto the last thread of [her] faith in humanity and hope for justice.”

“They got walls / we got gliders Glory to all resistance fighters,” AbouYabis wrote in the post. “Palestine is our demand No peace on stolen land / Not another nickel not another dollar / We will pay For israel slaughter / Not another nickel not another dime / We will pay for israel crimes.”

In a message to Woodruff Health Sciences Center faculty last month, interim School of Medicine Dean and interim Emory Healthcare Chief Academic Officer Carlos del Rio, Executive Vice President for Health Affairs Ravi Thadhani and Emory Healthcare CEO Joon Lee condemned AbouYabis’ comments, which they claimed were “rooted in bias and hate.”

“We expect all members of the Emory community to treat each other with dignity and respect at all times, recognizing that each of us comes from different backgrounds and holds different beliefs,” the administrators wrote. “There is no place in our community for language and behavior based in hatred, that incites violence and is counter to the values that unite us as health care professionals and educators.”

The University also removed AbouYabis, who specializes in hematologic disorders and malignancies at Winship Cancer Center, from Winship’s website last month. She has worked with the institution since 2018.

“As we navigate difficult conversations, our expectation is that all members of the Emory community continue to demonstrate empathy and treat each other with dignity and respect,” the University wrote in a public statement on Oct. 17. “There is no place in our community for language and behavior based in hatred, that incites violence, and that is counter to the values that unite us as educators and health practitioners.”

The account AbouYabis used to post on X, the platform previously known as Twitter, and her original post are no longer available. However, the non-profit StopAntisemitism screenshotted and shared her post on Oct. 16, calling her post an “atrocious endorsement of the Hamas terrorists.” StopAntisemitism’s post has since garnered 2.3 million views with 8,500 likes and 3,600 reposts.

AbouYabis’ termination comes amid campus and nation-wide debate and polarization about the Israel-Hamas war, with several other professors at institutions across the country facing similar responses for speaking out on both sides of the conflict.

A few days before Emory placed AbouYabis on leave, Washington University fired Professor Seth Crosby for posting a message in favor of Israel’s attacks on Palestine. Crosby later apologized before his account was deleted.

“It is a much needed cleansing, yes, but not an ethnic one,” Crosby wrote in the post that led to his removal. “Israel is not targeting humans.”

Last month, Yale University (Conn.) Associate Professor of American Studies, Ethnicity, Race, & Migration, and Religious Studies Zareena Grewal found herself amid controversy after publicly supporting Palestine on social media. Yale student Netanel Crispe created a petition calling for the institution to fire Grewal, which has garnered over 56,000 signatures.

“My heart is in my throat,” Grewal wrote in the post. “Prayers for Palestinians. Israeli is a murderous, genocidal settler state and Palestinians have every right to resist through armed struggle, solidarity. #freepalestine.”

However, Yale backed Grewal’s right to share her own personal views, releasing a statement claiming that “Yale is committed to freedom of expression.”

There are no updates on the status of AbouYabis’ investigation at this time, according to Diamond.

“We all play a critical role in fostering an environment of respect and inclusivity,” del Rio, Thadhani and Lee wrote in their statement. “Let us show empathy, caring and support of each other. Let’s take care of ourselves and each other and, as always, reach out for support as needed.”

Who is Stephen Berk? Jewish Professor Criticizes College's Response to Student Ayah Osman's Remarks About Israel Supporters

Renowned scholar and professor of Holocaust and Jewish Studies, Stephen Berk, is at the center of a heated controversy involving a student's inflammatory comment about Israel supporters.

The incident took place at Union College, a prestigious private liberal arts institution in Schenectady, New York, as per Daily Mail.

Berk, 83, has accused the college of failing to support him after a junior student, Ayah Osman, made a contentious statement on Instagram, claiming that anyone attending a bingo night fundraiser for Israeli terror victims would have a "free guaranteed spot in hell."

The tension escalated when Professor Berk confronted Osman, asking her to clarify her derogatory statement. To Berk's astonishment, Osman stood her ground, responding with an unequivocal "I do."

The exchange was marked by a stark difference of opinions and an escalating emotional confrontation.

In the aftermath of this heated discourse, Union College's President, David Harris, issued a statement addressing the situation. However, Professor Berk felt that the statement threw him under the bus.

The president stated, "We do not condone the student's words. We also do not condone the manner in which this student was confronted in a public setting, nor how she has been portrayed in social or traditional media."

Berk expressed his shock at the college administration's response, particularly the Vice President of Academic Affairs, who was present in the audience during the confrontation.

Berk lamented that the administration conflated his actions with those of the student, disapproving of both responses, thereby leaving him feeling unsupported.

In his criticism of Union College, despite acknowledging it as "one of the best liberal arts colleges in the United States," Berk asserted that something is amiss on campus.

He suggested that administrators had taken their eyes off the ball, allowing an environment of growing anti-Israeli sentiment at the school.

The video footage of the exchange between Berk and Osman was shared on social media platforms, including X (formerly known as Twitter), further fueling the controversy.

In the video, Osman addressed Berk, beginning with a defensive tone: "Professor, you called me a disgrace, but I think it's very important to note how irresponsible it was of you and this group of people, many of whom don't have access to what I said, to completely misrepresent what I said. I never said that all Jewish people should go to hell. And I would never, ever say that."

Berk rebutted Osman's statement, reminding her of her initial comment: "I said that what you said is that people who attended that rally should burn in hell. Do you stand by that?"

Osman replied unequivocally, "I do."

Osman's initial Instagram post, which referenced a poster for a bingo fundraiser for Israeli victims of terror, read, "They forgot to mention this on the poster, but don't worry if you don't win anything because everybody who attends this event is getting a free guaranteed spot in hell." She accompanied her inflammatory words with a party face emoji.

As a result of the controversy, Osman faced fierce backlash, including a petition demanding her expulsion from the university for "antisemitic behavior." The petition garnered support from 5,354 individuals before being closed.

During an appearance on Fox News with host Brian Kilmeade, Professor Berk emphasized his commitment to standing up for what he believes is right, asserting that Israel was justified in its actions.

He called on people not to fear bigotry and to remain courageous, especially in the United States, where freedom of expression and diverse perspectives should be cherished.

Pro-Palestinian Professor Questioned in Killing of Jewish Man Posted Pro-Hamas Video

A professor who is accused of killing Jewish man Paul Kessler at a pro-Israel protest in Los Angeles on Sunday posted a video comparing Hamas to civil rights leaders.

Loay Alnaji, 50, a professor of computer science at Moorpark College, allegedly hit Kessler, 69, in the mouth with a megaphone, causing him to fall and hit his head on the pavement. Kessler succumbed to his injuries less than 24 hours later.

In video provided to the New York Post, Alnaji can be seen talking to a female police officer as first responders tend to Kessler.

"So you tried to hit the phone," the officer says, to which Alnaji nods his head and gestures toward the megaphone behind him.

StopAntisemitism posted a video on X, formerly Twitter, of what appears to be Alnaji’s Instagram account, where he reposted a video of activist Shahid King Bolsen comparing Hamas to historic freedom fighters.

"If someone asks me to condemn Hamas, I would say what’s the rush?" Bolsen says in the video. "You condemned Nelson Mandela and the ANC until you didn’t, until he was a hero. You condemned Mahatma Gandhi until you didn’t."

Police ruled Kessler’s death a homicide and have said they are looking into a 50-year-old suspect. While police would not confirm if this is Alnaji, Daily Mail reported that police searched his home Sunday evening.

Police have not arrested Alnaji but are expected to charge him with a hate crime enhancement, according to StopAntisemitism.

Vigil Held Outside City Hall for Israeli Hostages

Baltimore made the social media feed of a national organization called "Stop Antisemitism," for this video.

It shows a man tearing down posters featuring photos of Israeli hostages outside Penn Station.

As quickly as the campaign began to put these posters up in cities around the country, came the campaign to tear them down.

"It's a twisted mentality that someone would tear that down. Those posters are just saying one thing - this infant, this elderly person, this disabled person, was kidnapped against their will by a terrorist organization. They must be released," said Jay Bernstein, the head of the Israel committee with the Ner Tamid congregation here in Baltimore.

While some object to the posters because they believe they ignore the plight of the Palestinian people in Gaza, others believe it's all fake; there are no hostages.

This is Bernstein's message to those who believe the posters are simply Israeli propaganda:

"It's clear what happened on October 7. There's camera, and messages from the terrorists themselves. Not only did they do what they did, but they're happy with what they did. They're calling their family members saying, 'look, we killed Jews, we kidnapped Jews. This is not fake news. And people who claim that on October 7 there was no attack on Israeli civilians, or that only military installations were targeted, it's wrong, that's a lie, and i wish that was not the case," Bernstein said.

He helped organize a vigil Thrusday night outside city hall, to mourn the loss of those killed on October 7th, and call for the release of those still held captive by Hamas.

He believes this should be a black-and-white issue.

"We would hope and think and pray, that no matter what someone's political opinions might be regarding the Israel issue, regarding the Palestinian issue, that they would agree that these hostages must be released."

The vigil featured a display of 240 paper lanterns - that's the number of hostages the Israeli military believes are in captivity.

The mayor, and members of Baltimore City Council were invited to attend.

Video Purportedly Shows Ex-Angel City FC Player Flashing Nazi Salute at Pro-Israel Rally in Beverly Hills

Angel City FC has condemned the “recent actions and statements” of a former player who appears to be captured in a video making a Nazi salute toward pro-Israel demonstrators Sunday in Beverly Hills.

Stefany Ferrer Van Ginkel is shown shouting “Heil Hitler!” and giving the Sieg Heil salute out of the passenger side window of a car driven by a man, according to a video posted on X on Monday by the watchdog group StopAntisemitism.

Members of the pro-Israel crowd responded with, “Shame on you!”

The StopAntisemitism group asked for help in identifying the two people in the vehicle. That evening, it posted an update identifying the woman as “Stefany Neyra.”

A spokesperson for StopAntisemitism told The Times via email that the information was sent to the organization by a confidential source.

Ferrer Van Ginkel seems to have gone by the name Stefany C. Neyra on her social media accounts, which have since been deactivated. StopAntisemitism posted a screenshot of an Instagram account with the Neyra name and the handle @stefvangi21 that included photos that appear to be of Ferrer Van Ginkel. She could not immediately be reached for comment.

The Beverly Hills Police Department said in an email to The Times on Thursday morning that the incident is being reviewed.

“The rally did take place on Sunday November 5th, 2023, in the City of Beverly Hills. Our Department is aware of the video / incident that occurred during that rally,” Sgt. Jeffrey Newman wrote. “The incident is currently being reviewed, and I do not want to speculate on further information at this time. Our Department respects the importance of protected speech, but will also actively investigate any criminal acts that may have occurred.”

As tensions over the Israel-Hamas war continue to intensify in the U.S., Angel City FC attempted to distance itself from Ferrer Van Ginkel with a post on X on Monday night.

“Stefany Ferrer Van Ginkel (stefvangi21) does not play for Angel City Football Club, nor has she been affiliated with the club since November 2022,” the club wrote. “We condemn her recent actions and statements.”

In response to further questions for this article, Angel City FC referred The Times back to that statement.

Ferrer Van Ginkel posted a video to Instagram on Monday night, before the account was deactivated, that appeared to address the incident at the rally. In the clip, Ferrer Van Ginkel sits silently next to a man, who offers an apology on behalf of both of them.

“I know we have approached the situation with hate and made it worse with our actions,” the man says in the video. “We acted childish and it’s the wrong way to approach any situation that we live in. All we can do is become better, learn a lesson from this. We cannot change the past. And we just wanted to apologize and ask for you guys to understand and stop the hate. We just wanna spread love from now on. We understand we did the wrong thing.”

Ferrer Van Ginkel, 25, grew up in Brazil, appeared in a British reality show and played with Tigres of Mexico’s Liga MX Femenil before playing for Angel City during its inaugural season in 2022. Her contract was not renewed after that campaign, and she does not seem to have played professionally since then.

New York Public Defender Quits After Being Caught Tearing Down Posters of Israeli Hostages

A New York public defender resigned after a video went viral of her ripping down posters of hostages held in Gaza by Hamas.

The New York County Defender Services told Fox News Digital that Victoria Ruiz, 36, had resigned “effective immediately.”

The viral clip, posted on the X social media platform by the group StopAntisemitism, showed Ms Ruiz tearing down a “kidnapped” poster featuring pictures of those kidnapped in Israel on 7 October.

“Why are you taking down pictures of missing children?” someone can be heard asking Ms Ruiz. She did not respond.

“New York County public defender Victoria Ruiz caught removing posters of Israeli children kidnapped by Hamas terrorists,” the group posted on X on 5 November. “It is absolutely unacceptable for someone with such bias and hate to serve in your office @nyc_defenders.”

The Independent has reached out to New York County Defender Services. The firm described Ms Ruiz’s behaviour to The Jewish Chronicle as “highly insensitive.”

“Ms Ruiz has apologised to those who were hurt or confused by her actions,” a spokesperson told the outlet. “After an internal review, and a pledge by all involved to do better, we accept this apology and now refocus on the vigorous pursuit of our mission: achieving justice and dignity for every individual we represent.”

Ms Ruiz’s resignation comes after a Change.org petition garnered over 2,300 signatures calling for her to step down.

“This act is not only disrespectful to those suffering but also raises serious questions about her ability to provide unbiased legal services. The role of a defender requires impartiality and respect for all individuals, regardless of their background or circumstances. By publicly displaying such biased behavior, Ms Ruiz has shown that she may not be capable of fulfilling these duties effectively and without prejudice,” the 5 November petition wrote.

More than 240 people — including grandparents, babies, soldiers — were kidnapped from their homes on 7 October. Hamas has since released two elderly Israeli women and two Americans.

Thousands have been killed since the war’s outset, with no sign of stopping.

On Tuesday, Hamas said it was prepared to release 12 foreign nationals, but was unable to due to Israel’s airstrikes and ground operation, Axios reported.

Last week, President Joe Biden called for a humanitarian “pause” in the fighting, and Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has previously rejected mounting calls for a ceasefire, but in a Monday ABC News interview, appeared more open to consider “tactical little pauses.”

'Heil Hitler': Antisemitism Has No Bounds, Despot Hailed as Hero on US Roads in Protest Against Israel

Amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, a duo from Beverly Hills, California have faced severe backlash on various social media platforms for doing a ‘Nazi salute’ during a pro-Israel rally.

On 6 November, the non-profit organisation Stop Antisemitism shared a five-second-long video on X, formerly known as Twitter, in which an unidentified person was seen waving an Israeli flag, while the duo in a car were seen doing the ‘Nazi salute.’ According to media reports, one of them also shouted, “Heil Hitler.”

Later, the individuals were identified as Stefany Neyra and Samim Haydari, who are the owners of the sports brand Juega Bonita.

Internet users expressed strong disapproval of their actions, with many wanting their identities to be made public, which ultimately happened. The criticism directed at them has continued to escalate since the video went viral.

The Stop Antisemitism platform has taken a proactive stance in identifying individuals displaying anti-Jewish sentiments.

In a recent incident, the platform unveiled the actions of Lucia Mendoza, a Rutgers University graduate, who was caught removing posters related to kidnapped Israelis.

U.S House Votes To Censure Rashida Tlaib Over Anti-Israel Comments

The U.S. House of Representatives censured “Squad Member” Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) on Tuesday for her endorsement of genocide against the state of Israel.

According to the Daily Wire, 22 Democrats and 212 Republicans voted in favor of the censure, with four Republicans voting against it, in a tally of 234–188. Six members abstained from voting, while four members cast present votes.

Tlaib was criticized in the motion to censure her for “calling for the destruction of the state of Israel and promoting false narratives regarding the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel.”

In addition, the resolution stated that Tlaib “knowingly spread the false narrative that Israel intentionally bombed the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital on October 17 after United States intelligence, Israeli intelligence, and President Biden assessed with high confidence that Israel did not cause the explosion.” Tlaib “defended the brutal rapes, murders, be-headings, and kidnapping—including of Americans—by Hamas as justified resistance to the ‘apartheid state ”

After uploading a video on X this week criticizing President Joe Biden for his support of the Jewish state and including the slogan “From the river to the sea,” which calls for the ethnic genocide of Jews from Israel, Tlaib drew fire from both political parties.

In reaction to Tlaib’s statement that the term refers to “…the full erasure of the Jewish state, from Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea,” StopAntisemitism wrote on X, stating that the chant is Hamas’ rallying cry and pointing out that “You echo terrorists.”

NYC Public Defender Victoria Ruiz Resigns After Video Showing Her Ripping Down Posters of Israeli Hostages Goes Viral

A New York County public defender has resigned from her position days after she was caught on camera ripping down posters of Israeli hostages plastered across New York City. 36-year-old Victoria Ruiz has now left the New York County Defender Services, a rep told New York Post. Hundreds of people are being held hostage by Hamas in Gaza.

The viral video was initially posted to X by nonprofit watchdog StopAntisemitism. “NYC - New York County public defender Victoria Ruiz caught removing posters of Israeli children kidnapped by Hamas terrorists,” the page wrote, sharing the video. “It is absolutely unacceptable for someone with such bias and hate to serve in your office @nyc_defenders”.

Soon after her video went viral, a spokesperson for New York County Defender Services, who employs Victoria, said, according to The Jewish Chronicle, “It has come to our attention that one of our attorneys, Victoria Ruiz, recently attended a public vigil solely in her capacity as a private citizen. Some of her actions at the event have drawn sharp criticism and we strongly condemn them as highly insensitive.”

“Ms Ruiz has apologised to those who were hurt or confused by her actions,” the spokesperson said. “After an internal review, and a pledge by all involved to do better, we accept this apology and now refocus on the vigorous pursuit of our mission: achieving justice and dignity for every individual we represent.”

After the video surfaced, a petition was launched to urge the firm to fire Victoria. “This act is not only disrespectful to those suffering but also raises serious questions about her ability to provide unbiased legal services,” read the change.org petition, set up by Chava Rose. “The role of a defender requires impartiality and respect for all individuals, regardless of their background or circumstances. By publicly displaying such biased behaviour, Ms Ruiz has shown that she may not be capable of fulfilling these duties effectively and without prejudice.”

New York Lawyer Resigns After Tearing Down Posters of Israelis Taken Hostage by Hamas

A New York public lawyer has resigned after ripping down posters of Israelis taken hostage by Hamas.

Victoria Ruiz, a New York public defender, was filmed taking down two posters with the headline ‘Kidnapped’ last week.

In the video shared by StopAntisemitism, Ruiz is seen taking the posters off a pole in a district in Manhattan. An individual filming Ruiz asks the lawyer: “Why are you taking down pictures of missing children?”. Ruiz appears to ignore the questioning and walks away.

After criticism from political and antisemitism campaigners, the lawyer resigned with immediate effect. Ruiz's colleagues were informed on Tuesday in a memo by New York County Defender Services (NYCDS) executive director Stan Germán.

StopAntisemitism executive director, Liora Rez, said the group are "pleased to hear" that Ruiz had stepped down.

Rez added: “We are pleased to hear that Victoria Ruiz resigned from her position at New York County Defender Services.

“Someone who openly denigrates a vulnerable community by tearing down these posters should not be representing New York County’s most vulnerable in court."

New York Mayor Eric Adams said: "As I’ve repeatedly said over the last month, the October 7 attacks on Israel were abhorrent, and every hostage should be immediately released to their family.

“As we see the fallout from this violence spill over into New York City, we must reiterate that hate has absolutely no place here.

“Tearing down a poster of a hostage is a deeply misguided act of disrespect to victims of terrorism.

“I stand firmly with all the innocent civilians caught in the middle of a war they did not ask for and the New Yorkers managing the fallout."

A spokeswoman for NYCDS said: “It has come to our attention that one of our attorneys, Victoria Ruiz, recently attended a public vigil solely in her capacity as a private citizen.

“Some of her actions at the event have drawn sharp criticism and we strongly condemn them as highly insensitive.”

The spokeswoman said Ruiz had apologised after an internal investigation and then resigned.

She concluded: “After an internal review, and a pledge by all involved to do better, we accept this apology and now refocus on the vigorous pursuit of our mission: achieving justice and dignity for every individual we represent.”

Anti-Israel Protestor Allegedly Beats 69-Year-Old Man to Death with Bullhorn

A pro-Israeli protestor from Thousand Oaks died after a pro-Palestinian protestor allegedly hit him over the head with a bullhorn during a clash between the two groups Sunday.

Ynet News confirmed that Paul Kessler, 69, died of internal bleeding after the blow to the head.

“According to witnesses at the scene, a verbal altercation broke out between an older Jewish man and a pro-Palestinian protester,” that outlet reported. “Suddenly, the protester struck the older man on the head with a megaphone he was holding.”

Ynet News said that video of the incident was captured on the victim’s phone and that the police took possession of the phone to use the video as evidence.

The non-profit group Stop Antisemitism posted a short video clip showing Kessler (pictured above) bleeding on the ground.

“May his memory be a blessing and his attacker be prosecuted to the fullest degree of the law!”

Other nonprofits offered condolences and noted a rise in antisemitism in the United States.

“We are devastated to learn of the tragic death of an elderly Jewish man who was struck in the head by a megaphone wielded by a pro- Palestinian protestor in Westlake Village. Our hearts are with the family of the victim,” said the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles. “While we wait for more information from our law enforcement partners, we remind you that this is the fourth major antisemitic crime committed in Los Angeles this year alone. Violence against our people has no place in civilized society. We demand safety. We will not tolerate violence against our community. We will do everything in our power to prevent it.”

According to Monday a Daily Mail report, the authorities are asking anyone else with video footage of the incident to come forward and assist with their investigation.

The publication also said that a “58-year-old suspect has not yet been named or arrested, but police say he is cooperating with their investigation.”

Kessler’s manner of death was determined to be a homicide.

“It is a medical, legal determination,” said Ventura County Chief Medical Examiner Christopher Young. “It simply states that the death occurred at the hands of another person… [but] homicide does not indicate that a crime has been committed. That is a determination to be made by the DA’s office.”

NY Public Defender Resigns After Tearing Down Israeli Hostage Posters: Report

A New York public defender has reportedly resigned after she was filmed tearing down posters of hostages missing in the Israel-Hamas war.

The New York County Defender Services said that Victoria Ruiz, 36, had resigned “effective immediately,” Fox News Digital reported.

The group StopAntisemitism posted a video Sunday on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, of Ruiz taking down posters of the missing hostages.

The Hill has reached out to both the New York Public Defenders office and StopAntisemitism for comment.

Hamas has held more than 200 hostages since its initial attack on Israel on Oct. 7, which left more than 1,400 Israelis dead. The hostages include an unknown number of Americans.

In the video, the athlete can be seen appearing to strike a “Sieg Heil” salute with her hand flat and arm extended in front of a pro-Israel rally, which can be heard yelling “Shame on you!” at the woman and the driver.

The football club denounced her actions and reassured she had not been affiliated with the club for a year.

New York Public Defender Steps Down After She Was Caught Tearing Down Israeli Hostage Posters

New York City public defender Victoria Ruiz stepped down from her position after she was caught tearing down Israeli hostage posters, according to the New York Post.

Ruiz, 36, was seen on video ripping down posters on a city pole of Israelis who were taken hostage by Hamas during the terrorist attack on Oct. 7. The video, which was shared on Twitter by nonprofit group StopAntisemitism, went viral on Sunday shortly after being posted.

An individual filming Ruiz can be heard asking the public defender why she was taking “down pictures of missing children.” StopAntisemitism identified Ruiz in their post, calling out the NYC public defender’s office as well.

“New York County public defender Victoria Ruiz caught removing posters of Israeli children kidnapped by Hamas terrorists. It is absolutely unacceptable for someone with such bias and hate to serve in your office @nyc_defenders,” the tweet stated.

While Ruiz reportedly apologized since the incident, a spokeswoman from her law firm condemned Ruiz’s actions as “highly sensitive,” according to The Jewish Chronicle

“It has come to our attention that one of our attorneys, Victoria Ruiz, recently attended a public vigil solely in her capacity as a private citizen. Some of her actions at the event have drawn sharp criticism and we strongly condemn them as highly insensitive,” a spokeswoman told the outlet.

A petition was also launched on Change.org calling for the dismissal of Ruiz for “unprofessional conduct,” stating that the act was not only “disrespectful” but also “raises serious questions about her ability to provide unbiased legal services.” The petition gained over 2,000 signatures since Sunday.

No information was given regarding Ruiz’s step down other than a rep confirming her resignation, according to the New York Post.

Who is Ariana Del Rosario? Apple Fires Employee for Posting Antisemitic Content on TikTok and Instagram

A woman who used to work at Apple has been fired for posting antisemitic content on TikTok and Instagram. The woman has been identified as Ariana Del Rosario.

She was severely criticized on social media for her stand and was fired by Apple weeks after the public complaints.

Ariana Del Rosario was an employee at Apple. She was working as an AIML data ops. Several X users slammed her on the platform.

One user wrote, “Her words are insensitive and cruel!  I love @Apple products – but she also diminishes the brand!”

“I’m very surprised at Apple.  I didn’t think they had morals.  It always surprises me when a company shows morals.  I never expect it anymore unless it’s a conservative company.” another user wrote.

One X user tweeted, “That’s unfortunate to hear about Ariana Del Rosario’s behavior. It’s important for companies to take appropriate action against any form of hate speech or discrimination. Let’s hope for a more inclusive and respectful environment for everyone. 🌟✨ #Inclusion #Respect”

Almost 10,000 lives have been tragically lost as a result of the ongoing confrontation between Israel and Gaza. Consequently, Israel is under increasing pressure to ease its limitations on Gaza. Rosario’s strong sentiments on the subject have prompted a broader conversation about the propriety of different types of protest in times of international unrest.

Antisemitic events have increased as a result of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, affecting Jewish communities across the globe. Co-founder of the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism Heidi Beirich is aware of the pattern of an increase in hate crimes amid Middle Eastern conflicts. Renowned extremism expert Brian Levin claims that this recent spate of violence is the biggest attack on the Jewish community since the Holocaust.
