Police are investigating a suspicious package at Young Israel of Bal Harbour, a synagogue in Surfside found on Friday. According to Surfside Police, the “all clear” was given shortly before noon Friday; the package turned out to be a piece of luggage.

The orthodox synagogue is at 9580 Abbott Ave. It serves the communities of Bal Harbour, Bay Harbour, Surfside and Indian Creek, according to its website.

Police are looking into the episode being a possible “trial run”.
