A local man was arrested June 13 in Leesburg in connection to more than 30 reports of destruction of property, according to the Leesburg Police Department.
Numerous residents in the 100 and 200 blocks of Meadows Lane NE in Leesburg have reportedly discovered damage to their vehicles over the past few months, including swastikas and ‘KKK’ being carved into the sides, as well as punctured tires.
Following an investigation that involved community assistance, authorities identified and arrested Jose Flores, 59, of Leesburg, charging him with nine counts of destruction of property, according to the LPD.
Investigators believe Flores acted alone and that he is not associated with any hate groups, authorities said.
As of June 17, Flores was being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.
